How every pitfall is a lesson
A year ago I quit my safe corporate job at Amazon and decided to become an actress. It was my childhood dream and I trained in acting for more than 6 years. I wanted to fully focus on my passion and give it all my energy. I’m very happy I had the courage because the past year has been super rewarding with numerous film and commercial shoots and the lead role in a theatre production.
However, it was challenging, to be very honest. For example, I eventually didn’t get the role in a huge cinema film production after 4 rounds of castings. I also got rejected by 20 agencies and got crossed off the shortlist of numerous commercial and other film productions. These were hard blows to take and many times I felt sad and disappointed. But in hindsight every pitfall was a valuable lesson.

5 factors that make you succeed in sales
Both in my career as a sales rep at Amazon and in my acting career I learned: Rejection is normal. You have to accept it, as it is out of your control. What successful sales is really about and what is in your control is:
your mindset
persistency and a strong will to succeed
your attitude, body language and the right rhetoric
building meaningful, value-driven relationships and
helping others through offering your services or product.
When I improved these things, opportunities opened up that I didn’t even dream of before. I connected with people in a truly authentic way and became much more successful. So I strongly believe that mastering these factors makes you achieve your goals, feel happier and be more motivated in your job.
How you can benefit from my learnings
I want to pass on my lessons and this is how Pauer Coaching was born. My mission is to help sales reps & executives become more present, authentic and confident in creating value-driven relationships and being more successful.
In workshops, trainings, speeches and 1on1 coaching I pass on my knowledge from 5 years working as a key account manager at Amazon and my experiences in working as an actor. Furthermore, I increased my general sales knowledge by certifying as a Sales Coach. Due to growing up in the US and being bilingual in German and English, I also coach business communication in English.
Coaching is extremely rewarding because I see how my clients benefit greatly from the sessions and how much more motivated and successful they are in their daily encounters. I adapt every session to the specific needs of the client, may it be:
improving presentation and rhetorical skills,
becoming better at acquiring new customers and reaching more revenue,
knowing how to deal with objections and becoming quick-witted and
feeling self-confident when communicating in English.
In addition, I enhance the coaching with practical exercises from improv theater and acting, which give it a unique perspective.
If the above mentioned coaching topics resonate with you or you just generally want to reach out, I love to hear from you. Leave a comment below or send me an email to flora@pauercoaching.de
